LAST BUDDY CLASS
Over the year we have all had a great time with our buddy classes!!!!  Today was our last buddy class visit, and we did it all together!!! We gave each other Christmas cards, and the big buddies helped their younger buddies make a reindeer story. Then we sang some Christmas songs together.  We especially loved our buddies singing Jingle Bells a kiwi version.  Below are some photos and us singing.

TOUGH KIDS

TOUGH KIDS
On Tuesday we had a great day out at the Sport Canterbury Tough Kids event.  Even though it was a little cooler, we had fun getting wet, muddy and being challenged by the obstacles.  Enjoy the photos of the children competing.  A huge thanks to the parents who provided transport and supported our students.

Room 16/17 - Art Gallery Experience - Len Lye

On Monday the 13th November we went to Christchurch Art Gallery. We particularly focused on learning about the artist Len Lye.

Exhibition

Len Lye: Stopped Short by Wonder

We found out that he used lots of different mediums to create his art pieces like paint and metals. Some of his art pieces made the most amazing sounds and moved in really creative ways!

Finally we got to make out own Len Lye inspired art piece!

Here are some photos of our experience....

Grandparents Day - Room 13-15

GRANDPARENTS DAY
Thank you to all the grandparents who visited our space on Friday.  The children loved having their grandparents come and visit.  Most grandparents have become followers of their grandchild's blog, and learned to make comments.

Dessert Island Challenge

DESERT ISLAND CHALLENGE
Last Thursday while many children were at 3 Peaks, the rest of us had a lot of fun taking part in two desert challenges.  The scenario was that we had been shipwrecked on a desert island.
The first challenge was to construct a message in the bottle.  They had a limited amount of resources to use.  All groups had to plan and work well as a team.
The second challenge was to build a raft to escape the island.
Below of some of the photos from our day.
