Hīnau "Acids and Bases" Science Term 2

This term Hīnau have been focusing on "Acids and Bases" in Science


In this unit, students have been gaining an understanding of what acids and bases are and how they work individually and apart.
We have been focusing on:
  • Identifying what an acid and a base is by using a PH scale
  • Explaining the differences between acids and bases using their senses
  • Posing questions about why an experiment has a particular reaction
  • Using diagrams to explain what has happened in experiments by including detailed labels

We also explored combining acids and bases on paper to see what would happen!
